WHITIN DESIGN WORKS provided full Landscape Architectural services for design and implementation of the headquarters for Wellpoint Health Networks. The existing California Oak (Quercus agrifolia) woodlands on the site and throughout the city of Thousand Oaks provided context and inspiration for the landscape design. WHITIN DESIGN WORKS collaborated with Callison Architecture to position the building, outdoor spaces and building terraces, taking advantage of spectacular views of the surrounding Santa Monica Mountains. Large boulders harvested from the site are mixed with a plant palette of native shrubs, perennials, California Oaks and California Sycamores (Platanus racimosa) to provide a pastoral setting for this corporate facility.
